Study Links Soccer’s First-Touch Mechanics to Faster Passing Transitions
A University of Tsukuba study of university soccer players identified whole-body and ball movements associated with shorter receive-to-pass times. Using 3D motion capture during a dynamic passing task, researchers found that quicker transitions were linked with a controlled foot approach, a more upright receiving posture and less ball rebound after the first touch.
