Finnish Study Links Evening Chronotype With Poorer Work Recovery and Mental Health
A population-based study of 2,266 working-age people in Finland found that evening-oriented participants, particularly extreme evening types, reported more difficulty recovering from work and more mental health symptoms or diagnoses than morning types. The association with anxiety disorders appeared connected to work-life spillover and inadequate recovery, but the study did not establish that being a night owl causes these problems.
